Kent joined TIAI in 2004. In addition to helping define the company's investment strategy and selecting investments for client portfolios, he devotes much of his time to the management of defined benefit pension portfolios. His knowledge as an enrolled actuary enables him to understand the emerging liabilities of retirement plans and to construct portfolios to address those needs. Education

Kent D. Bartell is an Associate Portfolio Manager, a member of the Investment Management Committee, and a Vice President with Tisch Investment Advisory Incorporated (TIAI). In 1991, he joined Deloitte & Touche LLP as an Associate Consultant. During his eight years with the firm, he rose to the position of Senior Manager, servicing his own set of clients, providing due diligence support for mergers and acquisitions, and providing review for Detroit audit practice clients with large defined benefit plans, including Chrysler Corporation, Detroit Edison, and Detroit Diesel. In 1999, Kent joined Star Consulting Group LLC where he focused on providing similar defined benefit expertise to small and middle market clients. He has done extensive financial modeling over the course of his career, including conducting cost/benefit analyses of Corporate Life Insurance, Executive Buyout, Severance, and Post Retirement Medical programs.
